Windows Phone OS 8.0 dan Nokia Lumia Review

Just tested Windows Phone device with brand name Nokia Lumia & OS WP 8.0 . Overall Android and ios are better than Windows Phone, and i think i prefer the interface of BB10 than this OS. Let's go straight to the advantage and disadvantages of this WP OS.

Advantages:
  1. Application has a small size compare to android and ios
  2. Very Fast Screenshot
  3. Smooth UI even with low spec
  4. Good battery management, a little better than Android and iOS
  5. Integrated Mobile Accessibility (stand alone feature)
  6. Email can be set to view all, not only last few days or weeks
  7. Doesnt need software when transfer file from phone to computer or vice versa , unlike iOS and BB10
  8. Good and accurate auto-correct
  9. Live Tile Notification
  10. Ability to Pause-Resume when download application
  11. Hotspot / Internet Sharing feature
  12. Easy Backup
  13. Flip to silence feature (like Samsung galaxy series)
  14. Read incoming messange feature (like Motorola Moto X touchless  control)
  15. Voice recognition (more like voice command, not voice assistant)
  16. Unique Interface (not common like iOS, Android, BB10 , etc. )
  17. A build well and neat casing , i need to watch youtube when open the back cover for the first time (Nokia Lumia related, not Windows Phone)
  18. Double knock to screen on (like LG phones)
  19. Kid's Corner feature (something like Guest Mode). The user chooses which applications and games appear on the Kids Corner. When Kids Corner is activated, apps and games installed on the device can be played or accessed without touching the data of the main user signed into the Windows Phone
  20. A Feature that can change lockscreen image everyday (random from their internet server database), this feature is called Bing LockScreen, and give us many good images, usually landscape
  21. DataSense, information about our internet usage , wi-fi or cellular and feature to set limit
  22. People Hub =>  put contact book, feed, fb groupchat(rooms), post an update, social network information into 1 place. (unfortunately email, sms/text messaging, messenger are not included)
  23. Scan QR code as default feature (u can access it via bing search)
  24. Battery Saver & usage information
Disadvantages (sorry i use indonesian language because i dont want my negative point view as international consumption):
  1. ga ada pilihan reboot/restart , terpaksa wajib pake cara force reset
  2. icon phone app ga permanent/locked posisinya, jadi pas di posisi lain, misalkan lagi di halaman terbawah dan mau telpon, harus slide keatas lagi.
  3. pas charging , maksa harus On kalo sedang dalam posisi ga hidup handphonenya
  4. Whatsapp ga ada tombol Refresh Address book, alhasil setelah add seseorang, harus close dan re-open atau tunggu dalam waktu yang lama
  5. Interface yang terlalu flat dan sederhana
  6. bug whatsapp dimana setiap orang yang kita add otomatis masuk Favorite List
  7. bug whatsapp dimana kalo kita delete semua Favorite or kosongkan favorite , ga bisa chatting ke mereka lagi
  8. Back button mempunyai kinerja berbeda dengan Android , lebih mirip back button pada browsing internet
  9. Saat buka Phone App harus ke history screen dulu defaultnya  sebelum bisa ke Dial screen, ga bisa langsung ke Dial screen.
  10. Touch sensitive sekelas Android, dibawah BB Q10
  11. Dari Lock Screen ga bisa langsung akses Notification Message yang masuk , jadi harus unlock screen dulu
  12. Ga semua type box ada pilihan Copy
  13. Semua type box tidak ada pilihan Select All  dan Cut
  14. Pas Search app di search box di market, dan ada bad connection yang menyebabkan koneksi putus, terpaksa harus ketik ulang di search box
  15. APN memusingkan settingnya , ga semua opsel bisa set APN
  16. pas tekan Back button di beberapa aplikasi (terutama app chatting), masih ada status Search dan macem loading gitu
  17. Koneksi 3G jelek (relatif tergantung model?)
  18. Ga bisa lihat detail/properties suatu image/photo
  19. bug pada whatsapp , terkadang kalo ada pm masuk, posisi cursor slide keatas ke posisi text yang seharusnya uda kita baca
  20. search appnya ga bisa buat search game yang kita install
  21. Multitask screen ga bisa close all/clear all , juga ga bisa ditutup dengan cara swype
  22. Ga ada File Explorer/File Manager
  23. Pas ketik panjang, trus saat kita ingin scroll atas bawah tulisan kita atau seleksi kata tertentu pada kalimat panjang kita agak sulit, dan ga ada pilihan select all juga
  24. Pada keyboard, Tidak bisa aktifkan "auto-correct" jika tidak aktifkan "Suggestion"
  25. Jumlah maksimal app terbatas (limit)
  26. Saya mendengar dari beberapa pemula atau non gadget freak kalo interface WP cukup memusingkan 
  27. Menaruh cursor pointer di antara 2 buah kata atau 2 huruf terkadang menyulitkan / kurang simple (mirip iOS)
  28. kurangnya kustomisasi 
  29. Auto rorate ga secepat iOS
  30. Bug Whatsapp pm perseorangan bisa hilang sendiri tanpa sebab 
  31. kurangnya aplikasi terutama game
  32. Camera ga bisa pilih resolusi atau megapixel yang kita mau
  33. kadang di whatsapp bisa freeze sementara/beberapa saat
  34. UI Xbox app banyak iklan 
  35. menahan text agar munculin pilihan copy paste chat agak lama
  36. Banyak bloatware ga berguna alias kebanyakan bloatware (spt app kompas.com, dll)
  37. Sound tidak bisa dipisahkan pengaturan volume antara phone call ringtone, aplikasi game, incoming message notification dll
  38. buka aplikasi seperti chat IM atau setting agak lambat 
  39. Whatsapp susah ngeliat post history yang lama (loading... loading...)
  40. Pas Handphone sedang dalam keadaan mati, tekan tombol power (tidak hold), sudah menghidupkannya, kadang ketekan gitu padahal uda tutup HP nya ga mau buka lagi
  41. Tidak bisa tahu battery habis paling banyak untuk apa saja (battery usage info)
  42. Update Firmware/System bukan berarti update aplikasi bawaan dan setting, harus update secara tersendiri lagi
  43. Link terlalu sensitive di Chat , pas scroll up/down , biasa selalu ketekan
  44. Bug pada DataSense yang bilang bandwith habis semua secara tiba2, dan Bug SMS dimana message terbaru tiba2 pindah posisi ke paling atas padahal posisi message lain masih normal
  45. Vibrate / Screen On pada whatsapp yang ga bisa di off kan saat notif message masuk saat kita sedang membuka whatsapp
  46. Whatsapp kadang force close sendiri
  47. Ga bisa ganti nama device atau bluetooth tanpa bantuan computer
  48. Bluetooth ga ada tombol manual scan
  49. Bing search bawaan ga bisa search aplikasi di internal storage seperti Android dan iOS
  50. Install file app wajib taroh di memory card 
  51. Memory card sering bermasalah ga detect
  52. Ga bisa automatic network 3G - 2G 
  53. View image di gallery ga ada pilihan rotate left/right, jadi jika image nya miring, trus kita puter HP kita, image nya ikut puter karena sensor
  54. Setiap update "Settingan". tulisan di Setting posisinya berpindah kebawah, jadi tidak tetap gitu posisinya, sehingga kita ga bisa menghafal posisi tulisannya untuk selamanya, harus cari dari atas satu per satu atau kira-kira sendiri pake insting
  55. Ga ada notification center yang bisa di scroll down untuk melihat detail atau shortcut
  56. ga bisa off kan Lock Screen (wajib pake)
  57. Internet Explorer kalo ga ada koneksi, macem jalan padahal nga bisa
  58. Voice Recognition ga bisa di disable / off
  59. Loading Aplikasi yang berhubungan dengan internet terasa lebih lambat dibanding OS pesaing , jadi harap sabar jika sering lihat tulisan Loading , Waiting dan sejenisnya muncul agak lama.
  60. Bug , pas ada update dari beberapa aplikasi, trus tekan tombol Download all atau Update All, terkadang ga jalan, terpaksa harus manual satu2 dulu
tulisan merah = kesalahan Nokia , tulisan biru = kesalahan Microsoft , tulisan hijau = kesalahan pembuat Software alias Whatsapp


What's New in Windows Phone 8.1 :
-di Versi 8.1 sudah bisa menggunakan file manager, tapi berupa aplikasi yang harus didownload lagi, bukan bawaan , dan kualitasnya agak kalah (terbatas) dibanding Android.
-Ukuran Live Tile lebih banyak pilihan, sudah ada pilihan yang lebih kecil
-Bisa menggunakan gambar sebagai wallpaper live tiles
-Bisa Swype di keyboard
-Cortana, virtual assistant nya Microsoft
-Notification center/panel telah hadir (disebut Action Center)
-Bing Search bar sudah bisa mencari lebih banyak (apps, image,search engine web,video, isi email, contact book, local map)
-Private Internet Browsing feature
-Sudah bisa membuat Folder Tile
-Camera burst mode (mengambil foto dengan cepat berulang2)
-Apps Corner (filter app yang bisa diakses orang lain saat orang itu menggunakan HP kita)
-Battery Usage tracker
-Wi-Fi Sense, otomatis sign ke wi-fi network yang percaya, ataupun share wifi ke teman tanpa membagi password
-Storage Sense, pindah file antara internal storage dan memory card
-Menghapus "Me" hub tile , dan menggabungkannya ke People Hub (sejenis contact book dgn lbh banyak informasi dan fungsi yang berhubungan dengan Social Network, Feed, Update Status, Post Update di satu tempat). Disini juga bisa membuat GroupChat dan Rooms, menggunakan data dan contact dari Facebook friend list.
-Device Hub (hanya untuk merk Nokia), semacam remote control ke device lain (pc,hp,tablet,dll)
-Workplace, semacam fitur untuk perusahaan kerja dimana admin server bisa modif isi HP karyawan perusahaan, jadi semacam lingkungan server HP gitu
-Dan tentu saja sebagian bug yang muncul di 8.0 telah di fixed

Apa yang saya suka dari WP? (top 6)
1. Umumnya devices WP terutama Nokia Lumia series, terdapat tombol dedicated kamera tersendiri
2. Double tap to wake screen
3. Bing LockScreen
4. Design interface yang berbeda dengan Android dan iOS yang sudah terlalu umum dan menjenuhkan
5. Ga butuh software untuk pindah data antara HP dan komputer ala itunes/iOS
6. Live Tiles
